Abstract

THE EFFECT OF SELF EFFICACY AND INFORMATION QUALITY ON BEHAVIORAL INTENTION TO USE ACADEMIC INFORMATION SYSTEM WITH PERCEIVED USEFULNESS AS INTERVENING VARIABLE Muslichah Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of self efficacy and information quality on behavioral intention toward academic information system with perceived usefulness as intervening variable. Data for this study was gathered using a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire contains two part. The first part of the survey sought demographic information from the respondents such as gender, age, program, and frequency of using academic information system. The second part is asks for respondents' perception of usefulness, self efficacy information quality dan behavioral intention. A questionnaire was administered to 377 students, 311 were returned yielding a reponse rate 82,5 %. There are three important findines of this study. First, the direct effect of self efficacy on behavioral intention to use AIS is significant. Second, the direct effect of information quality on behavioral intention to use AIS is significant. Thirs, the indirect effect of self efficacy and information quality on behavioral intention to use AIS through perceived usefulness is not significant. The result of the study can be used for management of higher institutions to consider and understand about factors that influence the behaviora; intention of the students to use academic information system.
